The sensational discovery of the year 2005
In the year 2005 at the site of El Brujo, located outside of Trujillo, archeologists made a
breathtaking discovery: digging in the main pyramid they found the untouched tomb of
a Moche lord, and by the time they unwrapped the mummy the discovery turned out
even more important than it was already: it was not a body of a man but the one of a
young woman they had in front of them. That discovery proved that not only men could
rule a Moche kingdom, also women were able to assume the highest office in their
culture. This young lady was a priestess, a warrioress and a ruler, the treasures found in
her tomb, crowns, earrings, bracelets, even weapons, were in almost perfect conditions.
Since 2015 it is possible to enter the inner part of the pyramid with its beautiful
paintings and frescos, some of the best conserved in Peru.
Don't miss the unique opportunity to see the „Cleopatra of South America“ !
